[Note: Ganon met Alex and John several months before your other stuff. I'm catching him up to the current timeline with this post.]

The dingo's voice interrupted his subordinates. "All right, men, we've got a new recruit."

A wolf blinked, looking up from where he was sitting. He had been playing cards with three of the others. "New recruit, commander? You mean someone got promoted, right?" The dingo shook his head.

"No, he's from the draft. They decided to stick him with us. I dunno if they didn't trust him in the TNF or if they just thought he'd be a good Guard. I expect you to treat him with respect, especially because he's bigger than you and could probably punt your sorry asses across the training arena. The big one."

The Titanian Royal Guard Unit Phi muttered a bit among themselves at their commander left the room, and a few minutes later a nomad walked in. He had few possessions with him; among them a large stick of petrified wood, a few changes of clothes, and some other assorted items in a bundle. He was shirtless (due to his wings), his uniform consisting of his hat, pants, and belt. His talons prevented him from wearing proper shoes. He wore a necklace made from the smaller teeth of a bone dragon. His dog tags were on them. He slowly looked around at his new comrades' stares. "... Ganon Firenight. Give me my peace and I'll give you yours." He walked straight past them to the unit's quarters. They slowly exchanged, looks, then shook their heads.

One muttered, "The hell's Titania coming to...?"

-----

"Ha!" Ganon whipped his tail over and caught 2nd Lieutenant Joseph Deerkiln, his sparring partner, in the back of the head. The large bear fell with an 'oof' and his momentum carried him forward along the arena floor.

"Ugh... you're good, nomad." Ganon reached down and helped him up.

"I have to be, don't I?"

"I suppose so, what with bandits and uvrath."

"Never had much of a problem with uvrath, actually. They don't usually attack nomads. Just bandits and recklens." Recklens were nonsentient humanoids that moved about under the sand and came up to attack prey.

"Well, you're certainly better than I had expected." Deerkiln was one of few in the unit who actually spoke to Ganon. Most considered him inferior and stupid, a burden. But Ganon was certainly showing considerable skill in hand-to-hand combat, sniping, marksmanship, and manning guns on artillery. He was not showing as much proficience in flight and would probably fly in battle only as a last resort. His computer skills were also lacking.

-----

Ganon's TRG-F Scorpion mk. XI cruised through the upper atmosphere over Titania. The training run was complete, and he relaxed, allowing autopilot to take over. Commander Dezzt congratulated him over his comm. link, "Good job, Ganon. Never seen a nomad fly White Run like that."

"Far from the best, Commander."

"No need to be the best, Ganon. You just need to be competent."

"Yes, sir."

"Come on down, Firenight. You did good. Over and out." Ganon nodded to no one in particular and piloted his way down to the base. He casually opened his comm. link to the main channel, just to see what was going on.

"... got some weird readings. Looks like something big's coming into our area, around Ring Gun 3."

"Good job, Probe 5. Ring Guns 1, 2, and 3, be prepared to activate. Potential threat coming into orbit near you. Repeat, Ring Guns 1, 2, and 3. Probe 5 will send you the energy fluctuation coordinates."

Ganon frowned and switched it off. He activated VTOL and lowered his landing gear, dropping slowly to the runway and moving into the hangar. He got out once he was cleared and immediately returned to Unit Phi's quarters. Everyone there was getting ready to fight. Dezzt was there, and glanced at Ganon. "Get ready, Nomad. This ain't a drill."

Captain Kren felt a tingle shoot right up his spine.
He didn't like that feeling; it was his Cerebrum Psioni's way of telling him that someone was after him, specifically and completely focused on him.

He'd grown up on one of the outer Imperial planets, and this sense served him well on the savage planet where fights often broke out amongst unruly colonists.
In fact, it was this skill that brought him to the attention of an Imperial recruiter who asked if he wanted to see the galaxy.

Which brought him here, into the Uncharted Belt, conquering worlds for the Emperor's glory.

"I've got the funniest feeling that we're being approached. Close all bays and access ports, and send the ship to Combat Alert Orange. Make sure shields are raised; if they want in, they'll have to rely on the old fashioned methods. And get me another comm to Katina."

Kren's red eyes conveyed a sense of irritating as he faced the holocorder.

"You have still not answered my query even though I know you received it. This is quite rude and I do not appreciate it. I'll give you another chance to respond, and then I will assume that your intentions are hostile. I await your reply. And, by the way; tell your assassin that he won't be able to get into my ship, so he'd be better served returning to base." He said, finishing his message off with a cold smile.

---

Battlegroup Commander Es'nil-teh grinned as the task force finally jumped out of hyperspace in visible range of Titania.

"..It even looks like a lump of dren." He remarked, standing on the bridge of his Command Carrier, the Indignation.

He contemplated the orb, which steadily grew as the ships approached it, and then turned around and ascended to the command console.

"All ships, this is your commander. Approach with caution and make sure you're fully alert. They've never been taken by an invading power, and there has to be a reason for that beyond the fact that it's inhospitable. At the first sign of danger, you are to target lock and open fire, no hesitation. Understood?" He asked, his hand on a communicator's activation switch.

His subordinate captains gave him an affirmative one after the other.

"Good. Captain Jarek, take the Emperor's Torch and clear us a way to the planet." He said.

The Emperor's Torch, a massive Imperial Dreadnought and one of only two in the task force, lurched forward, blasting up to full speed as the other ships intentionally lagged behind a little bit.

The Alliance Guardian-class cruiser Vega watches the Templarians aproach Titania from a safe distance under cloak, and relays the data back to Starbase 742 over the scrambler. Captain Miller narrows his eyes when he gets the information...

"So, what the hell are they doing at Titania...hardly anything of value there."

"Sir, perhaps they take star systems for the...joy of ruling?"

"Ensign, if that wasn't potentialy plausable at this point, I'd have you scrubbing the exaust ports. Mister Hale, what's the tactical report on those ships?"

"The massive one is a dreadnought named the Emperor's Torch. I believe it would be an even match with a President-class Battleship or a Chancellor-class Battleship. The command carrier... Indignation, the readings aren't clear, all we can tell is that it's a command carrier and it's name. There is another dreadnought but readings on it are not clear eather."

"And the others?"

"Ducked into Titania's rings sir, we can't get clear readings."

"Those dreadnoughts worry me...how many of our battleships are in the area?"

"Just one...the Chancellor-Class Battleship AGS Chancellor."

"Great...how much of our defense fleet can WE spare?"

"None...not unless we want to be able to mount a decent defense when they come knocking...and they WILL come knocking."

"Have the Chancellor remain in the system and have their hyperlight drives on stand-by."

"Aye, sir."

"Mister Hale, you have the deck."

"Aye, sir."

Captain Miller goes into his office...and looks over readings from all the probes in the system....

"This is going to be one hell of a day."

Captain Mitchell Ramirez walked onto the bridge of the CRS. Nightfire and surveyed the report handed to him by his lieutenant. As he read along he came to a point were his eyes could no longer move. He tried to continue to read the report but these few lines keep him glued to them. He read the report out loud just to make sure he was reading it correctly.

Ramirez: "...A group known as the 'Templarian Empire' has broadcasted this message on an open frequency to the citizens of Katina. The message is as follows:

"Natives of Katina, this is Captain Kren of His Imperial Majesty's Ship the Undying Faith. The Templarian Empire is claiming this system for the greater good of all involved, and we need to know your intentions immediately. Please respond."

Ramirez: Commander Cooper has suggested that this is to be taking as a lighter way of saying that they've come to take over the planet. Advise immediate action be taking to prevent this. Also, if this empire is able to capitulate the planet's government action needs to be taken on getting ALL Cornerians, be them military or civilian, off the planet. Still waiting to see how Katina's government will respond. Will report as soon as the information becomes available, outpost 4 out.

Ramirez placed the report on his desk and took his chair. He signaled his communications officer.

Ramirez: Transmit that report on a secure channel to C-&-C on Corneria, they need to know about this before we get Katina's answer.

Officer: Message sent sir.

Ramirez: Ops. Move us as close as we can get to the surface with out risking detection. We need to be ready for anything.

Officer: Moving...

Ramirez stood and walked the bridge, but wasn't able to move for long as another report came through. The date on the first report had been about 15 minutes old but this report had just been sent up from outpost 4. It read:

~~~
Emergency Report!
Outpost 4
~~~

New communication received from Imperial ship:

"You have still not answered my query even though I know you received it. This is quite rude and I do not appreciate it. I'll give you another chance to respond, and then I will assume that your intentions are hostile. I await your reply... [Transmission Scrambled]."

Caution! Imperial ship, name Undying Faith, had broadcast a second message. Still waiting for Katina's response. Commander Cooper is requesting all Cornerian citizens, located in areas 1-14, to evacuate and report to the outpost. Already taking refugees, evacuation may be required. Will report on either Katina's or the Undying Faith's next communication, outpost 4 out.

~~~
End Transmission
~~~

Ramirez: Dammit! Bring the ship to combat alert delta! Have the pilots briefed and ready for an evacuation. I'll be dammed it this thing breaks out.

(Sorry, did I miss anything?)

Jamie was sitting in the military base of Zoness, watching the Alliance's ships fly by and zoom into the blue skies above. She had nothing to do that day and everything was slow, peaceful, and completely boring. "Not one target to fry...not even a single recon drone." Her entertainment came from playing with her thumbs and reading Street Fighter comics that a pilot from earth had gave her as a birthday present. A soldier came up to her and tried to stir conversation with the bored captain, his voice was shakey and had a slight shutter. "C-Capti-ion...what ep-pisode are you r-r-rea-adi-ing?" Jamie looked up and sighed, quite annoyed someone had disturbed her. "The one where Ken and Ryu battle Guile." The soldier saw her look, and left immediately. Suddenly the alarm sounded and she threw down the comic, thanking whatever power above for the sudden emergenecy. She pushed the "incoming button" and the face of one of the alliance officials popped up. "Yes Admiral?"

The Admiral on the screen is Admiral Hawk.

"Captain, there's a situation in Lylat I think you should be aware of. The Templarian Empire, is attempting to take control of the Lylat system."

He sighs.

"The only avalible Alliance starships in the system are few in number. The ships we could send are dealing with a huge mess in the Tenaris sector. The commander of the Alliance forces in Lylat is Fleet Captain Jason Miller, get in contact with him at first opportunity. He's on Starbase 742 in orbit of Macbeth."

A red light begins to flash on his terminal.

"The Templarians are about to trace this transmission, I'm sorry we didn't get to talk more, Godspeed. Hawk out."

Admiral Hawk's face blinks out...

General Leyd of Ring Gun 1 confirmed the enormous ship's approach with Command. "We've got visual. We're going to hail them."

"Permission to hail granted, RG1. Go to it."

Leyd turned to a large screen, taking up a passive stance, hands behind his back, feet slightly apart. He was a stout old eagle who had served Zoness and Corneria in his time, and once the wars ended took up command of Titania's orbital defenses, the twelve Ring Guns. He was joined before the monitor by RG1's TO, a she-wolf by the name of Durham. She was younger than Leyd by a good twenty years, but had proved her excellence in training and the field. For one as young as she to be TO of a Ring Gun was a high honor, and she stood with pride, feet together, back straight, head level. The Comm. Officer gave the order to establish communications with the approaching ship.

Leyd spoke up. "Greetings. I am General Leyd of the Titanian Royal Guard. You are entering Titanian space. Please identify yourself."

Es'nil-teh smiled; it was one of those creepy smiles, somewhere between 'strange man in park' and 'vicious killer.' "I am Battlegroup Commander Es'nil-teh of the Command Carrier Indignation, officer in His Imperial Majesty's Armada."

Leyd raised a brow. The being on screen was clearly xenomorphic. "State your intentions, or you will be assumed hostile." Tactical Officer Durham noted the phrase 'assumed hostile' and with a discreet flick of the wrist behind her back, signaled the bridge to begin siphoning energy to prepare the Ring Gun.

"I'll save you the trouble of making assumptions; we are indeed hostile. We've come to claim this system for the Empire. You have the distinction of never having been taken in a war. We'd like to change that." A bridge officer off screen activated her communications array and murmured into it, "Prepare Hikon Company for launch."

"In that case, we'll save you the trouble of continuing to breathe. Speak whatever prayers your people speak when faced with imminent death. Good-bye." RG1 terminated the conversation, and Leyd contacted Command again, "The ship is hostile. We are preparing to fire."

"You're clear to fire, Probes 3, 4, and 5 are sending you coordinates and trajectory now." The data came up on RG1's bridge computers and the station automatically adjusted.

-----

Es'nil-teh could watch as the station angled itself slightly. Rings began to swirl around the circular satellite, locking into place, one after the other, capacitors and deflectors and siphons lining up with emitters. The station began collecting energy from the surface of the planet, swirling slowly as the siphons pumped in power.

-----

Nomad Darmunt huddled with his family as the magnetic storm bore down on them, red dust whipping into the air as the energy storm approached. And then things began to die down, just slightly. Darmunt looked up, confused, and saw the storm being stripped away into the sky quickly, as though sucked up by the mouth of a god.

He thanked his.

-----

RG1 quickly filled to capacity, the stabilizer ring beginning to spin faster. Es'nil-teh watched the first of Hikon company exiting the Dreadnought, spreading out into planetary attack formation. The Dreadnought began to move forward to launch its attack.

-----

Leyd stared at the screen, the enormous ship growing ever so slightly larger. He finally narrowed his eyes. "... Fire!"

-----

It was magnificent to watch. Cracks of energy beamed across the stabilizing ring of RG1. Deflectors and emitters adjusted and tuned in to one another, and then the charged energy was pooled in the center and released by a powerful magnetic field, straight toward the Indignation. The full wrath of a Titanian magnetic storm was released on the Indignation in the form of a concentrated electromagnetic beam capable of tearing straight through shields and armor, enough to rupture the enemy command carrier easily.

Es'nil-teh looked on in shock as the weapon streaked toward his carrier. His officers were trying to make evasive maneuvers, but he knew that they wouldn't get out of the way in time. "Belay that order, launch as many ships as possible, get them off the Indignation." He gripped the command console as the weapon tore right into the ship's armor. Bridge crewmen flew through the room like ragdolls, many dying from blunt force trauma. Es registered a gfrantic crewman announcing catastrophic failure of primary systems, and he smiled at the irony. 'We wanted to see why they'd been untouched...this explains it." He murmured as the carrier began to break apart, right on the verge of explosion.

Ships streaked away from the Indignation, most too late. Many had barely gotten out of the the carrier when its reactor went critical. The resulting explosion decimated most of the forces around it. A second later, RG1 began firing the beams in a lethal spray, annihilating many of the remaining fighters. Those that could retreated, making a short jump out of range to flee to safety.

Templarian Lieutenant Meeklo Kell prepared to jump when a beam clipped him. His power cell was damaged and his stabilizer failed. He had no choice but to enter atmosphere and crash-land. He moved his ship out of the way of the beams and piloted into the atmopshere, one of his right engines already failing. He struggled to maintain altitude to gradually descend, but then his left engines both failed and he dipped hard, spiraling several times. He hit on his left wing and it was torn off by the force. The jolt tossed him about in the cockpit and slammed him against his restraints until he could feel blood and bile rising in his throat, spewing onto the controls. His vision blurred and went double as he sailed and hit the ground again with the back of his fighter, bouncing and flipping several times. His right wing was torn off when he hit again and he flipped wildly, at last skidding to a halt nose-down in the sand, the skidmarks behind him long. His ship shut down for good. The only thing that remained online was life-support. He slid into unconsciousness as the winds whipped sand around him, slowly burying his ship.

-----

TRG Unit Phi laughed and congratulated one another, whooping and rewinding the visual of the Dreadnought's destruction to watch it again. Dezzt blinked suddenly and put a hand to his ear. "Right. Don't put your stuff away yet, boys. We've got a delivery to pick up."

Jamie nodded and typed in the name of the captain in her personal computer and waited for the captain to respond. Five seconds later his face appeared and she saluted him, he did the same to her. "Captain Miller, I assume you know about this 'empire thing'. Care to fill me in some captain?" She noticed a red flashing and typed in a few commands, the main window dissappeared, only leaving a small window with Captain Miller's face in it. "Tracking alerters...got to love them." So got out a notebook and pen, ready to take notes.

Captain Miller looks at her.

"I'll send you the whole thing."

He presses a few buttons on his console and a datapacket is transmitted to Jamie's base.

"That should be everything we have on them at the moment...I expect we'll have more shortly..."

Someone hands him something from off screen.

"Looks like Titania isn't sitting down on this eather. They just wiped out a Templarian Command Carrier, and one of their Dreadnoughts."

"Impressive."

"That was my thought. It would be prudent to make them our allies."

[Clarification: The Templarian Dreadnought is a class of heavy command carrier. The Dreadnought attacked by itself, being the second-most-lethal vehicle they have. The Dreadnought IS a command carrier, very powerful, very big. Just one is easily capable of destroying both of Titania's major cities. Unfortunately, those beams aren't very effective in atmosphere, so if a Dreadnought gets past the RGs, the Titanians are screwed.

Sorry, upon reviewing, yeah, the beam tore through the Dreadnought and went straight into the Command Carrier behind it.]

Lieutenant Melissa McKay was busy working on her thesis paper for her commander when an emergency flash report blinked onto her screen. She glanced at the first couple of sentences before she stuttered out to her captain.

McKay: S-SIR! I think you need to see this!

Captain Oakland paused with his conversation and made his way over to McKay's station. He stood behind her and, without asking what she needed, began to read the report on the screen.

Oakland: ...What in the...

He never finished the sentence because he immediately placed his radio to his mouth and contacted General O'Brien. He told the general about what he was reading and answered the question the general asked him.

Oakland: Yes sir, I'll send it to you now.

Oakland returned his radio to its former place and began typing a command into McKay's computer. He sent the message to the General's station but before the first message had even finished uploading a second, then a third message appeared on the screen. Oakland didn't even pause to read them, instead he, after finishing uploading the first message, he continued with the remaining two.

~~~
C-&-C Briefing Room
Mainland, Corneria
~~~

General O'Brien: You're all here today because of what we believe maybe a new threat to this planet, maybe even the whole system. Apparently a group known as the 'Templarian Empire' had threatened the freedom and security of Katina and, as far as we can tell, may have even attempted to attack Titania. We cannot allow these kinds of acts to continue. Therefore I'm assigning all of you to return to combat protocols 'A2-E9' and assume that any contacts made with these 'Imperials' will be hostile.

One of the captains sitting in the room raised his hand to speak.

Captain Cypher: Sir, what about the Alliance forces stationed at Macbeth. What are their intentions?

O'Brien: As you all know, the Alliance has and still is obeying the laws set down in this system and, as far as we can tell, are not hostile. Our government may even form an alliance with them if this threat grows.

Cypher: Yes sir, just making sure.

The general signaled for a subordinate to enter and began to pass out halo-screens to the different captains and commanders. When Brett received his he read the orders shown on the screen.

~~~
Orders: Cypher, Brett O.
Rank: Captain
ID #: 12-14-89BC
~~~

Your orders are as follows:
  1. Escort and assist CF. Hailstorm, CCR. Pitchblack, CCR. Heatshield, and CR. Nightfire with the evacuation of all Cornerian populace on the planet of Katina.
  2. Identify any enemy presence in and/or around the system.
  3. Return to Cornerian airspace once objectives 1 and 2 are complete.

R.O.E.) Engage enemy forces, if and only if, you are engaged first or enemy presence disrupts the evacuation.

~~~
End Orders
~~~

Once all of the commanders had finished reading over their orders General O'Brien dismissed them. They all saluted in unisons and left the room. Brett immediately made for the hanger that, which held his personal fighter, and arrived to find that it was already to go. He was docking with the CBS. Enduring Freedom before he knew it.

Operator: Welcome onboard sir. We're ready to be underway as soon as you get to the bridge.

Brett did just that, and issued the order as soon as he was situated on the bridge. The ship made its way to where the three other ships were waiting. Once all four ships were in the correct formation they made their way through an orbital gate that had been opened by the nearby gate station. The four arrived at the other end of the gate to find Katina off in the distance. The ships immediately began to navigate toward the rally point with the CR. Nightfire and upon their arrival Brett saw one of the Imperial ships holding orbit over Katina. He opened a transmission with the four other ships.

Brett: Looks like we've got some unwanted company. Lets hurry up and get this operation under way. The CF. Hailstorm and I will provide security while the remaining ships began the evacuation. Lets get this done gentlemen.

Brett closed the communication and moved his ship into a buffer location between the Imperial ship and his own.

Brett: Bring us up to combat alert Bravo. Have all crews on standby. I want to be ready for whatever happens.

---

I'm going to let you next post Tilkosh determine how I'll continue.

((The most powerful being the Planetkiller, which I couldn't bring because it's absolutely unfair.))

"...WHAT?!"

Asrin did not relish giving his commanding officer the bad news, but someone had to do it, and Tilkosh was less likely to go ape dren on someone that he'd served with for twenty years and considered a good friend.

"It wasn't a complete loss, sir. The Command Carrier, a dreadnought, a few ships and most of the fighters were destroyed, but the rest retreated to Sector X and are using the radiation to shield themselves from enemy sensors while they wait for orders."

"They killed Battlegroup Commander Es'nil-teh?" Tilkosh asked, though he knew the answer was obvious from the transmission footage.

"He died defending his people, and his Emperor. Just as you or I would." Asrin said, frowning.

Cilias nodded, teeth gritted.

"I hope we got something out of this."

"Yes, actually. TACOM is analyzing the transmission, and so far, we've found something. It's no secure that Dreads and CCs are huge targets, and they can usually rely on shielding and armor plating to defend against conventional weaponry, but obviously, these guns are by no means conventional. A few small, fast ships, with sensor cloaking online, might be able to deliver Marines and Hydras into those guns. If we can secure these weapons, we can use them as a power base not only to launch attacks from, but also to prevent enemies from attempting intervention."

Tilkosh's eyes narrowed, and he looked up at Asrin, his breathing fast but steady.

"I want those guns, First Officer."

"Understood, I'll get TACOM on the blower and you can start planning a covert mission immediately."

A short time later, Tilkosh was sitting in his chair, speaking to the holograms of his tactical officers.

"We can jump in close, annihilate the guns at close range, before they can open fire. They have a sizable charge time and we could easily-" A blue skinned creature began.

"No. I want those guns intact. They represent the next step for magnetics research; actually using the magnetic energy as a beam weapon. For god's sake, they killed off a DREADNOUGHT! The most powerful ship I was cleared to take with me! Imagine what that technology could do in Imperial hands. Just imagine." Tilkosh cut him off with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"..Point. Then, we need to figure out how to get close." The blue skin said.

"Am I the only one that's noticed that we're not using sensor cloaking? Each ship is equipped with a cloak but we're not using it." Another said, this one Vaelian.

"We were curious to see why the Titanians had never been conquered, but we underestimated them. This is the only reason sensor cloaks weren't used. Still...I see where you're going with this. If we could get in close, use Heavy Cruisers to fly in fast and counteract the charge time and traverse rate of those guns, we could get past them." Cilias said, looking past the holograms.

Each officer grinned in comprehension.

"We agree then, yes?" Tilkosh asked, smiling.

Each officer nodded.

"Draw up some plans and send them to a cruiser group. Also, Asrin, pull our men back from Sector X. Patch them up and debrief them."

---

"Alright men. Activate sensor cloaking and stick to the farthest side of the guns." Captain Gintar ordered, addressing the group of cruisers now slipping through the Sector X cloud.

"God willing, they won't see us until we're right up their bums."

---

Lieutenant Kell jerked awake a little bit later.

"What the hell?"

His vision still blurry, he pulled his pulse pistol out of his seat's side holster and closed his eyes, trying to clear his thoughts.
By this time, his fighter was submerged by a fairly thin layer of sand, darkening the cockpit completely.

The only thing he could actually see were the lights on his pistol, with glowed bright green indicating the weapon's full charge.

With a great effort, he severed his restraints and pushed as hard as he could against the cockpit canopy, letting sand pour into the cockpit as he lifted it away.

The bright light of Titania assaulted his senses, and he squinted his eyes against the glare.
Stumbling out of his destroyed fighter, he looked on the setting on his pistol; stun.

He laughed a little bit and flicked it to kill, trudging his way through the sand in an attempt to get his bearings.
---

Captain Kren's lips tightened as he watched the Cornerian ship slide between his warship and the planet.

"Open a channel." He said for what seemed like the millionth time today.

He sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Stay out of this, Cornerian. It's not your concern. If Katina decides not to attack, they and their civilian population will not be harmed."

Jamie recieved the files and looked over them carefully, her eyes scanning the material. The enemy had caught her attention and she was interested in their motives, their systems, and their leaders. She wanted to know everything and anything about them, even if it meant the death of her. "Thanks Captain..." She said to herself, her green eyes having their old sparkle return to them. She would get Captain Miller's help and unite their forces, she was certain that he would be vital to the success of the Alliance keeping peace and their two bases in Lylat. "Soldier...contact Admiral Hawk, tell him that I am sending an experimental ship called the 'Guardian' to assist them." "Yes captain." The soldier then relays the message and Jamie awaited his response.

An Alliance Frigate floats into Katinan orbit, and stealthily extracts Alliance citizens. Blinks its running lights in salute to the two vessels in the stand off and executes a hyperlight jump to Macbeth.

Captain Miller receives a report on what happened.

"First encounter with the Templarians and they didn't have a clue..."

"They were probably to stunned that the New Jamestown was in and out so fast."

"Possibly."

Phi Unit trudged through the harsh sun. They had been forced to leave their vehicles for later pickup, as a magnetic storm in the area had disabled the machinery. The wind was harsh from the receding storm, slowly dying down, but dust was being whipped up everywhere.

Ganon was the only one who seemed comfortable, being both cold-blooded and used to it as he was. The others were panting, ragged under their fur, but Ganon was going strong. He was even carrying some equipment that the others no longer could. He looked off into the distance, and the crew looked around. Dezzt sighed, looking at his malfunctioning GPS. "... Ganon, can you fly up again and take a look around, make sure we're at least going in the right direction?"

Ganon nodded and set all of the equipment down, then spread his wings and flapped hard to get lift, slowly circling, and finally caught a thermal and sailed into the sky. He circled until his eye caught a glinting object in the swirling sands, and he swooped down, pointing in the direction they needed to go. The others nodded, and Dezzt gave him the thumbs-up before they began picking their packs back up.

Ganon looked down and his eyes widened. The sand was thrashing around Phi Unit. Recklen, bursting out of the sand! One got its long claws and fangs into Dooley, and Roberts got up against it and blew its head off. Dooley fell, dead. Ganon swooped down and broke one's neck with his talons as Dezzt pulled out a photon blade and slashed through two. The wind started to pick up, and Ganon started looking for a place to land.

Too late. His wings caught a hard gust and he was thrown through the air, out of control. As he watched in horror, a bone dragon began piecing itself together before his unit, and then he fell from the sky. He hit his head.

-----

Ten minutes later, he opened his eyes. His communicator was back online, and he could barely hear Dezzt.

"Damn, Wallace! Blasted monster... that's it!" Ganon heard a roar and then a noise like an explosion and then nothing but static.

He groaned and flipped it off, pulling himself to his feet. Not a good way to start off the day. He looked around to get his bearings. About thirty yards away was a ship, nosedown in the sand, just a tail and smoking engine sticking up. Ganon shook himself, checked himself over for any bad injuries, and was satisfied that he was all right. He clicked his communicator.

"Commander Dezzt? Lieutenant? Corporal? Anyone? Damn!" He hissed softly and looked up.

The sand was moving. He unholstered his pistol and checked it. Turned the safety off. Bumped up the setting. He moved behind the ship, watching as a creature staggered out. It fiddled with its own gun and laughed. Laughed. Ganon's eyes narrowed.

He stepped out from behind the ship, grabbed the creature by the throat, snatched its gun with his tail, and pressed his own gun to the back of its head. "Don't move."

Meeklo froze, cursing softly in his own language.
He felt the warm metal press up against his head and frowned, understanding what it was.

"Well, that's my evening ruined." He murmured, looking ahead into the sand.

Taking care to make no sudden movements, Meeklo opened his mouth, speaking clearly and loudly.

"Meeklo Kell, Leftenant, Imperial Navy." He said, wondering if the creature would even care about Intergalactic rules of war or if they were even recognized on Titania.

((Wait wait wait. Poisonous gasses that could get into the ship? In interstellar space? Why would the Empire design exhaust or filtration ports large enough to fit a whole human or Lylatian creature? Dost thou smell a deus ex machina?

Also, why hasn't Katina responded to the angry aliens with big guns, despite the fact that ignoring them just makes them angry?))

(What I smell is someone getting close to Godmoding, for the record, YOU CANNOT GET ON TO SOMEONE'S SHIP WHEN THEIR SHIELDS ARE UP, END OF DISCUSSION! That's usually how they work. And I do believe the ship that Sunfox attempted to board had its shields up.)
